GRB Entertainment, a Los Angeles based television production and distribution company, is seeking a Vice President of Development to join our growing development team. The position requires a highly motivated, creative development executive capable of conceiving and recognizing breakthrough concepts and driving new business. The ideal candidate will be passionate about entertainment and has a proven record of creating and selling shows. The VP of Development will work alongside GRB's COO to build a content development strategy across all platforms in the U.S. market
Your responsibilities will include:
• Create new original ideas and develop pitches
• Identify third party projects and help develop pitches
• Oversee the Creation of development presentation reels, casting reels, sales decks, treatments and other sales materials
• Manage development casting outreach
• Manage development research initiatives
• Work with Legal on option negotiations, and follow up with agents, attorneys and talent
• Assist in production of network-commissioned casting reels, presentations and pilots
• Assist in the transition of development projects into Production
• Lead network pitch meetings
• Attend industry markets, as required
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with current and future partners
• Creative collaboration both internally and externally
• Foster regular communication with clients and agencies to collaborate on program development
• Work with GRB team to develop content strategies
Skills and Knowledge:
• Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated success in driving new business from concept to presentation and to sale, and through the execution phase
• Minimum 7 years of related experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with the various parties and entities involved in the Development process. Ability to collaborate across multiple groups and understand the value of working as a team
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Results oriented, self-motivated
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously that are deadline sensitive
• BA/BS degree in related area preferred
