This is a job opening for a Los Angeles based production company, active in the world of commercials and music videos. It's an opportunity for someone with strong technical and creative skills, to work and train alongside many of the best industry professionals. This job entails two primary roles:
1) VAULT MANAGER
For this role you will be expected to self-manage in a number of tasks. Candidates must be detail-oriented, technically proficient able to prioritize multiple deadlines and goals. Duties include:
- Maintaining an archive of all company projects; this includes a digital archive of HD video files, as well as a physical archive of hard drives
- Coordinating with post-production facilities to facilitate the transfer of final masters
-Overseeing the digitization and distribution of company's video files in various formats- including web-based video hosting, and physical presentation reels (USB, or DVD) proficiency in video editing and video compression techniques is a major requirement.
- Serving as a first-response for office IT issues (i.e. resolving email/internet problems; helping employees update software and maintain system backups, and researching new equipment purchases). This is not a professional IT position, but candidates should have the ability to troubleshoot and knowledge of Mac + Windows OS, and email functionality.
- Manage company PR including updating company website and social media, creating press releases, archiving press coverage, and handling awards and film festival submissions.
2) CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT TRAINEE
In addition to vault duties, this job would include assisting in the development of creative presentations for commercials and music videos. Candidates are not expected to have prior professional experience in this process, but a wide knowledge of film, art and design are encouraged. Duties include:
- Taking detailed notes during agency calls and creative discussions and relaying key points into summary documents.
- Conducting visual research- or the process of culling reference imagery from film, photography and other visual media.
- Conducting production research (i.e. -researching weather conditions, location scouting photos or other relevant information).
- Providing editorial assistance during the writing process; often involving proof reading or polishing text. Candidates should have strong grammar and communication skills.
-Assisting in the design and layout of presentation documents. Graphic design skills are encouraged.
