Global film and TV production company seeks VP of Development. The VP will direct and guide the continued growth and success of current projects, and play a key role in creating our slate going forward. This will require someone who can ramp into current properties quickly which will include generating ideas for new shows and characters. He or she should be comfortable packaging material, working with agents, managers, and talent. In addition, the VP will play a role in overseeing production processes as necessary (casting, re-writes, feedback on cuts, interfacing with legal) as we launch our production slate. The VP should have experience in guiding creators from pitch to production while delivering thoughtful, considered notes throughout. The incoming candidate should also actively discover new material and clients while building relationships with show creators and the creative community at large. This individual will report to the Executive Vice President of Creative. Flexible work schedule required, including some weekends, nights and holidays as necessary. This position will be based in Los Angeles.
