Details: We are looking for a skilled tape operator to be part of our dynamic digitizing and encoding team. We are looking to fill this part-time position immediately. The position is for a period of approx. 6 weeks, could be extended, or become permanent. The ideal candidate should have experience working with legacy tape formats including ¾”, Betcam SP, and all other current digital tape formats (SD and HD), experience working with D5 and SR decks, and working with NTSC and PAL video formats. This person should also have experience working with Wave Form and Vector Scopes for setting up levels via tbc. A “can do” attitude is very important. The position will pay a rate of $16.00 - $18.00 per hour and will require a commitment of approx. between 30 – 35 hours per week. (The number of hours worked per week may increase or decrease depending on workload.) We look forward to hearing from you!

Current and future project qualifications include but are not limited to:
• 5+ years related work experience
• Experience with video/audio encoding
• Production and industry related experience (videotape operator, quality control, audio/video editing)
• Experience with audio and SD/HD video mastering formats
• Experience working with decks including: legacy analog, current digital tape decks, and digital file based systems
• Having excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills
• Experience in the digital media space, media compression, and digital A/V
• Experience with encoding and compression tools and methods
• Experience with video analysis tools
• Having experience working with digital video formats such as: H.264, MPEG-2, VC-1, AC-3, AAC, MPEG2-TS, and GOP structures

• Understanding the technicalities of video and audio signals and broadcast standards
• Understanding media transfer techniques
• Having the ability to evaluate and diagnose compressed and uncompressed media errors
• Having a keen attention to detail
• Having solid troubleshooting, problem solving, and customer service skills
• Having the ability to document workflow
Salary: The position will pay a rate of $16.00 - $18.00 per hour and will require a commitment of approx. between 30 – 35 hours per week. (The number of hours worked per week may increase or decrease depending on workload.)
