Major talent agency with offices in New York & Los Angeles is seeking an assistant for our business affairs department in the New York office. In this role, candidates will learn how a talent agency works from the inside, as well as how performers are paid for various types of work (feature films, television, commercials, and voiceovers).
This is an entry-level role with great opportunity for advancement and growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening calls for the department
- Preparing mailings and bank deposits
- Learning how to processing payments for clients
- Creating and tracking invoices
- Interacting with clients, managers, and producers
- Answering payment inquiries and solving payment issues
- Filing and various administrative tasks
- Assisting with general operations of the agency
Must be pro-active, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with accounting/business affairs for an entertainment company (studio, agency, union, production company, etc.) preferred but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
AA or BA in Accounting or Finance (a plus but not required), or 2 years equivalent experience
Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and 10 key
This is a FULL TIME position, starting immediately.
