Booking/talent agent needed at a national boutique booking agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. No music industry experience is required, but it is preferred. If you have talent agent experience and a roster of artists, then the training program is a mute point and you are brought on as a full-time agent with a salary commensurate with experience and artist roster.
If you don't have any experience, this is a great opportunity to get into the music business. Training begins with assisting artist's personal manager and agents. You will be performing basic office tasks, but you will quickly be making calls for show information and then being put into the position of full time agent.
The philosophy is to get you familiar with the booking process while you train. During this 4 to 6 week time period you will be faxing, filing, packaging mail, creating contracts, tracking contracts and deposits, taking inventory, conducting internet researches, screening calls, ordering product, creating artist tour itineraries, and much more. Basically anything needed to help run the agency smoothly while training.
This training program requires one to be well organized, self-motivated, have excellent follow-up and communication skills and be people oriented. Mac computer skills are a plus, but not required. General knowledge and being comfortable on a computer is a must. This career is heavy on computer and phone.
This is a commission based position until you start to fully book concerts, then it is a full-time career with a salary vs commission. The sky is the limit and your success is based on your willingness to learn and your drive to succeed. This is a chance to get into and learn the music industry without having to start in the mail room. Serious inquiries only.
