Unique post production company with two locations, Santa Monica and New York is seeking a new position.
We are currently seeking a full-time staff accountant for our Santa Monica location. This position is responsible for supporting the finance department in performing transactions and reconciliation's accurately and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment and possess the confidence to take ownership of the role.
Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):
- Support Controller, Asst. Controller, AR & AP staff with daily transactions & reconciliations.
- Maintain communication with the client, producers and finance with regards to project status.
- Research and respond to billing inquiries in a prompt and accurate manner.
- Provide reports for clients, sales, producers, and project managers.
- Handle the day to day credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with the accounting for monthly productions.
- Communicate with Project Managers/Producers to help expedite work orders.
- Adhere to timeline to ensure accurate monthly closing journal entries and account review.
- Assist with revenue and cost analysis.
- Other analysis and special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or AA Degree in accounting or finance required.
- Previous experience with post production preferred.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task while having keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, communication and follow up skills required.
- Knowledge of scheduling and budget programs, but not required.
- Must be a team player and take the initiative to help the rest of the department whenever possible.
- Must be proactive along with the ability to follow directions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
- A willingness to learn and take direction, while maintaining a positive attitude is a must.
- Should take pride in the quality of work produced.
Salary:
Compensation commensurate with experience.
