RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual will work under the direction of senior management handling day-to-day production oversight and management on several simultaneous productions.
Duties will include (i) management of a variety of different projects in varying stages of production (i.e. development, sizzle, pre-production, production, post-production, delivery); (ii) budgeting and scheduling new projects and cost reporting (together with finance department) to ensure productions are produced efficiently and within approved budgets; (iii) hiring and managing contributors and managing vendor relationships with the goals of delivering the solid creative results requested by a director, while staying within the budget and schedule parameters; (iv) assisting with delivery to clients and television networks, including clearance/footage logs, insurance certificates, release forms, production binders and physical materials.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and organizational skills with experience navigating a wide variety of production issues. Must be an advocate for the company, but fair with crew and vendors. Must be comfortable negotiating on behalf of company and must be comfortable representing the company when interacting with clients. Must be a highly organized individual. Familiarity with software and hardware used in production and office affairs. Examples include, Movie Magic Budgeting, Microsoft Office Suite.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the below essential duties, on an independent basis with moderate supervision.
• Act as first point of contact for all production issues and adopt a flexible attitude towards troubleshooting & remediation. The ability to prioritize, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner is key;
• Comfortable managing freelancers and being a team player with other staff;
• Maintain best practices for production and post-production;
• Ability to work in high-pressure atmosphere and juggle many simultaneous matters;
• Ability to respond effectively and timely to a wide variety of inquiries, both verbally and in written form. Follow-through and follow-ups are a necessary part of this position.
• Familiarity with location, talent and materials releases, insurance certificates, deliverables checklists, equipment & vehicle rentals, etc.;
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Ideal individual has a bachelors degree and has worked in production for at least 5 years (at least 1 of which must be in a production management role on a television series) and a demonstrated interest in the field relevant to the job requirements.
