Under the direction of the Director of Operations and the Financial Controller, the Staff Accountant assists in the management of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end close functions. The successful candidate will also participate in the streamlining and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Previous experience in production services accounting and current industry references are required for all candidates. Prospective candidates who have recently attained professional certification (e.g., CPA, GAAP) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Daily Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Direct supervision of General Ledger and Accounts Payable.
• Directly responsible for ensuring all weekly Accounts Payable and month-end accounting close responsibilities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Directly responsible for assisting the management over parent company deliverables and meeting all deadlines.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Maintain and develop (as needed) additional control procedures as required by parent company.
• Serve as a direct contact for auditors, as necessary; including: supervision and documentation over audit work papers.
• Developing hands on knowledge of General Ledger, Financial Reporting and Accounts Payable processes in order to manage and step into additional responsibilities as necessary.
• Review, implement and assess accounting and general business policies and procedures.
• Interface directly with other department heads to provide financial support and analysis.
• Research and implement new accounting pronouncements.
• Preparer of quarterly and annual management & discussion section of SEC filings.
• Special projects as assigned.
