Job Description:
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Accounting unit primarily with Accounts Receivable, Payable, and financial reporting. The Sr. Accountant will report to and work closely with the Controller and Sr. Financial Analyst. This is a hands on role where the Sr. Accountant manage and be exposed to the full financial close process. The company is currently located in Santa Monica, CA and relocating to Playa Vista, CA later this year. The company is an independent media holding company with businesses in the media, entertainment, and technology sectors around the world.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for month and year-end close entries, bank account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and review financial statements for multiple subsidiaries on a standalone and consolidated basis
• Manage the Accounts Receivable and Payable including, but not limited to, processing invoices, expense reports, rebills, checks and electronic payment transactions, customer and vendor management
• Prepare, maintain, update various schedules related to government filings, expense tracking, and other ad hoc reports as needed
• Support the annual audit process
Qualifications:
• Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration degree required
• Three to five years of previous work experience as Staff Accountant and / or Financial Analyst
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Excellent time management, attention to detail
• Strong and resourceful team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work with sensitive information with discretion and respect confidentiality
• Experience with online banking
• Proficient in Quickbooks, Netsuite (preferred), Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
