Social Media Optimization (SMO) Specialist Job Description
This is an exciting employment opportunity for a great candidate in our newly located Los Angeles, Ca. office! We are looking for a fun energetic super social go-getter that will hit the floor running for all aspects of our social media needs. The Social Media Optimization Specialist is responsible for creating and increasing VJStreet as a social media presence. The SMO will be consistently communicating and interacting with a mass pool of 4 Million + active Facebook DJ's growing our followers to check out and subscribe to our Video pool (Promo-Video) Services. The specialist will provide relevant content daily while tracking metrics and monitoring relevant online conversations. This position will create, manage, and grow business presence across social media channels including blogs, Google +, Twitter, Vine, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo and Instagram. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer. We've got a lot of energy and need someone passionate about the social media/Entertainment DJ/VJ music world!
Duties include:
• Developing content across social media channels. This will include but not limited to blog posts, tweets, status update pins, photos and videos
• Monitor and respond to social media comments and feedback.
• Contribute to integrate social media messaging with marketing, sales projects, and recruiting campaigns.
• Manage digital conversations with current existing and prospective clients DJ/VJ communities.
• Cultivate new social media communities for DJ/VJ clients and groups.
• Maintain cutting-edge awareness of industry trends and best practices.
• Prepare, implement, and monitor budgetary items for social media.
• Minimize reputation and other risk exposure in social media.
• Ad hoc support for other marketing social media projects.
• Support for recruiting DJ's/VJ's and Identifying, evaluating, selecting, and monitoring all appropriate social media channels.
• Creating and maintaining an up-to-date social media plan for vjstreet.com
• Measuring and reporting social ROI to vjstreet.com
Desired Skills and Abilities
• Must have a general Music world knowledge and SMO work experience and clear understanding of the social media universe, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite, Music DJ/VJ forums.
• Knowledge of social media strategy, planning and goal setting options.
• Strong writing skills and ability to follow brand and voice guidelines across different platforms. Possess excellent written and verbal communication with high ethical blogging skills to properly represent vjstreet.
• Ability to lead participants in the social media conversation with those that are passionate about multimedia, blogging, micro-blogging
• Ability to compile, assess and explain social media metrics and measurements with accurate and up-to-date reports.
Education and Experience
• Must have knowledge and experience in media marketing and promotions.
• Experience in web development, HTML/CSS, online news production a plus.
• Understanding of the business implication of decisions. Demonstrate situational leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality, promote integrity, and support our mission.
• 3-5+ years of experience. The right candidate must have strong hands-on experience with social media tools at a professional level with highly preferred social media experience in the Music business/Entertainment industry with DJ/VJ interactions, marketing, advertising, and communications.
Schedule:
The SMO schedule is on-site, part-time position 20 hrs/wk, Monday - Thursday.
