POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Analyst is a key role that will manage filmmaker reporting, implement/improve analytical systems, interpret and communicate analysis results, as well as assist in controller functions. This position will interact with all levels of the organization, including the technology team and senior management. The ideal candidate will have a finance/accounting or data management/information systems background, a love of film, and a strong aptitude and interest in online media/technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage filmmaker reporting process (including: contract administration, journal entry/import, financial model design, calculation, reporting, auditing, website publishing, monthly accrual analysis, etc.)
• Develop and improve systems for tracking film/outlet performance, forecasting revenue monthly, and reporting the status of high-priority projects
• Help implement technical integrations between accounting tools and the company's internal digital properties
• Assist in performing ad-hoc analysis and preparing materials for management and board meetings
• Assist in controller function (accounts receivable/payable processes, invoices, vendor/customer management, monthly/quarterly/yearly close process)
• Maintain up-to-date databases with new partners, reporting, territories, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, especially with Excel, Access, and Powerpoint (familiarity with Quickbooks preferred)
• Experience working with database systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to solve complex new problems by thinking analytically
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to work in a rapidly evolving, fast paced culture and meet deadlines
• Internship or prior work experience in related business preferred
• BA/BS (ideally in business, information systems, or related field)
