Public Relations Associate (Fashion Industry) Full Time Job
In-House PR Associate will be responsible for the public relations initiatives within the company, focusing on the fashion industry. They will create, manage, and implement PR campaigns with the goal of enriching the company's artists/brands position within the public eye and maintain strong relationships with media reps.
We are looking for someone with a strong vision to help define/refine our PR & communications strategy, articulate a plan towards achieving that vision, and lead cross-functional team members to execute against the plan.
The successful candidate is a communications professional who will not only bring a history of successful PR campaigns, but also a hungry attitude. They will be comfortable in a ''roll-up-your-sleeves'' environment, and also understand how to create best-in-class campaigns that encompass all aspects of PR & communications. Last but not least, they will bring a personal level of passion for fashion/pop music/technology, have a hunger for being on the forefront of what's next, and infect those s/he touches with an authentic enthusiasm for creativity and innovation.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop overall strategy and plan for fashion PR & communications programs.
- Develop and own communications messaging platforms and work internal and external teams to develop possible story angles. Lead teams in creating and gathering any assets required to successfully deliver against the stories.
- Reach out to key journalists to pitch and cultivate story development. Not afraid to roll-up your sleeves and have direct and ongoing dialog with key journalists.
- Act as frontline spokesperson for the company for incoming media inquiries and select outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with team members to manage campaigns end-to-end, from ideation to execution. Campaigns may be pure press outreach or include integrated marketing components such as events.
- Work with executive team on key messaging points and delivery for press opportunities.
- Work hand-in-hand with company's marketing team to create cohesive PR/Marketing plans
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media.
- Expert in developing positioning and messaging platforms based on holistic analysis and understanding of the company's business and industry landscape. Has good sense for what moves the needle in awareness and perception. Able to help prioritize efforts and guide team(s) to spend appropriate resources based on expected ROI. Good balance of left and right brain thinking.
- Easily conceptualizes press ''stories'', thinks like a journalist and able to work cross-functionally to create and gather all pieces needed to tell the story.
- Innovative and creative thinker, known for developing new ways to tell a brand/company's story. Passionate about brand building and the changing media and retail industry landscape.
- Highly articulate with excellent communication skills. Inspires all-around confidence and effectively represents the company in every way. - Has long record of successfully and effectively working with, influencing and guiding senior executives. Builds and sustains excellent internal and external relationships, especially with the media and industry influencers, at multiple levels. Is a natural leader who is also willing to listen and partner.

Provides ongoing thought leadership on how consumers' media and shopping habits are evolving, and translates those insights into actionable strategies.
