Part Time Job
Production Staff needed for an large scale fun fan-focused free nerdy interactive event in San Diego July 6-12.
Jobs Available:
Production Assistant (rate $15/hr plus $30 per diem per day if craft services not provided)
Timing: San Diego: 7/6/15-7/12/15
(NOTE: Housing/transportation not provided. Staff must be San Diego local or have SD accommodations and transportation to/from the Gaslamp district available).
Positions Requirements :
• Complete tasks required for event execution (note Friday and Saturday the event is open until 4am; PA's will be selected to work the day shift or night shift).
• Be able to work long hours, stand on feet for extended period of time and be willing to provide any necessary manual labor associated with event production (Production Assistants must be able to lift 50-75 pounds).
• Take an interest in the creative elements of the event and can proactively provide input on site as needed.
• Assist on site with the facilitation of operations and liaison with production lead to respond to emergencies, problems, etc.; ensures assigned aspects of events are implemented and controlled according to plans.
Assist in problem resolution and answers questions. Someone that can think on his or her feet.
Ability to problem solve and assist with event flow, line management etc.
Positive, outgoing demeanor - energetic and able to keep up a good attitude even after long days.
Responsible for helping turn ''on'' and ''off'' the event each day.
Responsible for turning over rooms to create new atmospheres quickly and in a cleanly manner.
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Previous event and/or production experience required. Experience in large-scale event production and/or entertainment events preferred. Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Skill in public relations and excels under pressure. Confident in handling change and complaints.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains professional demeanor at all times, especially around celebrities and high profile VIPs/guests.
