TV Production Company is looking for an Attorney in our Business & Legal Affairs department to handle a variety of legal matters for television and new media programming. Position reports directly to the Executive Vice President of company and works in conjunction with outside counsel.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide general business & legal support for various productions (including drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide array of development and production-related agreements, conducting program clearance, and identifying and assessing legal risk)
• Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on risks, rights and other issues
• Perform legal research related to production matters
• Oversee contract administration activities (update and maintain legal charts, option trackers, clearance requirements, etc.)
Qualifications/ Skills
• A member in good standing of the California bar
• Possess knowledge of the entertainment industry, with some experience in unscripted television programming
• 1-2 years of legal experience at a network, studio, production company, talent agency, new media company, or entertainment law firm
• Transactional/contracts experience
• Experience in clearance, intellectual property, labor/employment or other relevant fields

• Initiative to take on new tasks and responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively
• Ability to establish effective relationships internally and externally
• Quick learner with a problem-solving approach
• Strong negotiation, drafting and analytical skills
• Excels under pressure in demanding, fast-paced environment
• Must be highly self-motivated, well organized team player with a strong work ethic
