Production accountant needed for large reality TV production company in Los Angeles:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure corporate finance and accounting requirements are met and adhere to required reporting processes.
· Oversee all accounting responsibilities for in-house development including: start paperwork, petty cash requests, time cards, and all other production forms, ensuring forms are available and meet production needs and employment laws.
· Prepare production accounting reports for any in-house production. Recode costs if necessary.
· Receive mail and allocate invoices, checks, and paperwork to correct show or corporate account.
· Prepare checks (in applicable accounting/payroll software) from correct bank account and post entries. Apply checks to invoices. Print checks/obtain correct wet signatures before extracting check from remittance, mail to vendor.
· First point of contact for vendor payment inquiries. Reconciling overdue statements and requesting duplicate invoices.
· Review and research credit card coding and confirm all back up (receipts) are received with correct approvals. Liaising with Line Producers/Production Managers and other cardholders with issues
· Handling all vendor creation, ensuring up-to-date W9 is on file and approving correct data entry on new vendors from production accountants. Tagging vendors with 1099 category when applicable.
· Managing Pcard approval in Citrix/SAP ensuring Pcard coding has the correct coding transactions to overhead or to shows.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· College degree in related field and/or comparable work experience.
· Minimum of 5 years experience in television/film production accounting.
· Must have knowledge of accounting software, i.e. PSL, Vista, Smart Accounting
· Must have knowledge of budgeting software, i.e. Movie Magic Budgeting & Entertainment Partners Budgeting.
· Must be able to interpret contracts/deal memos in order to assess validity of costs.
· Must be familiar with all aspects of production in relation to costs.
· Must be familiar with preparation of cash flow.
· Must be able to create and revise cost reports in Excel, EP, etc.
· Must be organized and able to multi-task; able to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
· Strategic self starter that works well with others.
· Must be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
· Must have good grammatical skills.
· Must be able to prepare logs, reports, and such.
· Must be able to operate various office machines such as the copier and fax.
· Must be able to pay close attention to detail.
· Must be well organized.
· Must be able to communicate effectively.
· Must be able to set up and maintain accurate, up-to-date files and records.
· Must be able to handle confidential information.
· Must be able to work under constant deadlines.
· Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
