Search for Production Accountant / Finance Executive jobs in Santa Monica-CA
The Production Accountant \ Finance Executive supports the studio with the management of all production accounting. The ideal candidate has experience in production accounting for scripted programming in independent movie, television or digital productions.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain budget tracking systems for OpEx, project spending, and income
Work with VP of Production to Establish and implement accounting control procedures, as well as establish long and short term departmental goals, policies, and operating procedures.
Create weekly cost reports to reflect spend status to compare to budget projections
Analyze spending, and identify areas of financial redundancy or inefficiency to reduce unnecessary spending
Work with third party production payroll companies to ensure timely payments for freelance workers, and adherence to pay-related labor laws
Log, process, and manage incoming invoices and outgoing checks/ wires, and track those expenses against the relevant budgets
Log, process, and manage credit card expenses, and track those expenses against the relevant budgets
General bookkeeping- check reconciliation
Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts,
Receivable, AMEX reconciliation, Petty Cash reconciliation, and Freelance Payroll.
Ideal Experience:
Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
3 - 5 years of relevant production accounting or payroll experience preferred
Discipline and skills required to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience working with MS Excel a must
Experience with Movie Magic Budgeting Software
A Fundamental understanding of the production business
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Exceptional organizational skills and a high sense of urgency
Strong work ethic with the ability and flexibility to work extended hours during critical periods such as month and year-end and remittance deadlines
Proficiency with Quickbooks Pro a plus
Experience working with Entertainment Partners and Cast & Crew
Must be team oriented with a positive attitude and a fit with our culture
