Job Summary:
Serves as a project manager in a fast-paced, post production company; facilitates and oversees all finishing processes of TV spots/Trailers from start to finish.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Serves as direct liaison between client (filmmakers, studio marketing executives, creative agencies, and post production facilities) and Company's production staff; ensures a smooth finishing process and overall client experience.
•Gathers and downloads preparation materials from client (graphics, EDL's, OMF's, Offlines) and then coordinates with the Manager, Operations & Scheduling to reserve bay space and production staff.
•Collaborates with editors/mixers in order to troubleshoot any complications that may arise; ensures the project is completed in a timely manner.
•Converses directly with the client in regards to the status and details of the spot/trailer in order to deliver a product that aligns with their vision.
•Performs quality control on all Masters and coordinates the delivery of finished materials to the end destination.
•Achieves operational objectives by ensuring all broadcasting/theatrical standards are met, as well as client approval.
•Creates budgets, prepares and allocates purchase orders, and manages billing paperwork. Records both billable and non-billable time in Xytech.
•Involvement in trailer finishing process includes: listing and ordering 2k or 4k scans for trailer build; coordinating receipt of scans, vfx shots, graphics, and audio preps from various vendors; coordinating DCDM creation and Digital Cinema Package (DCP) wrap; checking DCPs and delivering elements to studios, TASA, and the MPAA.
General Requirements:
Explicit knowledge of the Company's business and operations as a post production facility. Must be familiar with HD workflow including online editing, color correction, graphics creation, paint work/compositing, and audio mixing. Must be proficient in quality control checks for broadcast standards (video and audio levels, title safe, time code, etc.). Must exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to manage internal staff as well as deliver the project under a tight deadline; must be organized, efficient, and accurate under pressure. Must be flexible to meet ever-changing needs of clients; must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while displaying a high level of professionalism.
Educational Requirements:
Prior work experience in a post production facility and/or entertainment company is required. Must be proficient with HD workflow, including specific systems such as Avid/ProTools/Final Cut Pro. Understanding of MPAA guidelines and guild restrictions is a plus. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education is required.
