Post Production Engineer / Technical Producer

Job Description:
Searching for a candidate to serve as Post Production Engineer/Technical Producer on a successful daily entertainment show. This position is responsible for managing all technical aspects related to production, post production, IT and episode delivery on a daily basis. This position reports directly to the executive producer, co-executive producers, network representatives and EIC.
They will liaise with all production and post production staff including segment producers and editors daily.
Responsibilities:
Daily supervision of live feed recording and AVID, ISIS, media storage in a tapeless environment:
- Design, develop, implement and support broadcast and post production systems; develop and enhance media asset management; administer security and application upgrades; oversee and maintain daily fiber transmissions; design and administer system upgrades of StorNextFS DVS/DDN-SAN fiber network infrastructure; ensure integration of all devices in high-performance networked tapeless media environment.
- Provide Technical support of Avid editing systems and workflow, which encompasses: ISIS Storage system, off-net servers, workstations, media storage, major applications and plug-ins. Provide Technical support for graphics VFX, color correction, IT, and end-product file creation for Aspera and LTO digital media delivery. Utilize Linux, Windows, Mac operating systems; integrate, maintain and upgrade equipment related to ancillary SAN connected hardware (GFX Software, etc).
- Evaluate new hardware and system technology, and make recommendations to production and management on adoptions and direction; provide team leadership by training, mentoring and coordinating the work of others; develop engineering guidelines for departmental usage and workflows, and ensure that best practices are followed.
- Collaborating with production executives, show producers, and network operations to proactively provide strategic and technical solutions to improve post workflows, digital production, and costs while retaining creative quality.
- Organizing and overseeing logistics and scheduling as well as vendor support daily.
- Maintaining current knowledge of broadcast technology and delivery requirements.
Basic Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role of technical production.
Proficiency in all forms of Production Technology and Software, in addition to QuickTime & FTP Programs and Software; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization and time management, ability to anticipate budgetary/scheduling needs and pipeline changes, and ability to lead and motivate individuals.
Existing relationships with producers, vendors, technicians, support staff, etc.
Ability to travel as needed to location to set up post services.
Desired Requirements:
A forward thinking leader who knows technology and keeps an eye on developing trends.
Experience working in facilities management and upgrades.
Ability to research and recommend future workflow and upgrades to system.
Ability to anticipate budget needs and work with the EP, Co-EP's and Physical Production on all future capital expense costs.
