Seeking a tech-savvy Post-Production System Administrator that is a hands-on problem solver and team player.
The System Administrator demonstrates a sense of urgency and an ability to work within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and has excellent skills in building relationships, communicating effectively, and serving the needs of others. Most importantly, the System Administrator is proactive, responsive and has a propensity to get things done quickly.
Duties include:
• Support the office networks, servers, workstations and software that the company uses. This support encompasses repairs, maintenance, upgrades and new installations. Primarily the work focuses on the support of the Post Production division of the company.
• Help staff with daily operations and resolutions of these systems and software packages and suggest changes to make these systems more responsive to staff requirements.
• Evaluate potential technical workflow and stability improvements.
• Train staff on new systems and current workflow.
• Work in a file based environment. Advise best practices for file management, data protection/security and archive.
• Deployment of new workstations/servers.
• Document networks, systems and procedures.
• Any and all duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
• Experience with Mac and Windows computer systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NAS, SAN).
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in an enterprise technology environment supporting Mac operating systems.
• Experience in a production environment, VFX, Post Production is an asset.
• Specific experience with graphics and broadcast workflows, file formats, transcoding, etc.
• Experience with storage, network, email, authentication systems.
• Ability to learn quickly and be self-motivated.
• Have excellent communication skills: written and spoken (including the ability to assist non-technical staff with complex technical issues).
• Video workflow experience with FCP7 and Avid MC 6.0/6.5.
Desired:
• SAN administration experience
• VFX application support experience: Maya, Nuke, Alfred, and Adobe packages
• DaVinci Color Resolve experience
• Experience with Samurai cameras
• Familiarity with digital production workflow for television and film.
• Flexibility of schedule is needed. Some weekend work may be necessary.
