Position Overview
Oversee and develop department's partnership marketing strategy via non-traditional marketing opportunities, corporate partnerships, and numerous business development initiatives, in order to create maximum value for the label's roster of artists. These initiatives to include (but not limited to) national album launch and PR campaigns featuring music and content integration, tour marketing promotions, fan engagement activations/event marketing, industry influencer marketing, and in-store/retail promotion.
Essential Job Functions
o Business Development: Develop and manage the label's corporate partnerships to maximize label revenue streams and marketing opportunities. Maintain key brand relationships and campaigns for the label.
o Marketing Strategy: Direct marketing strategy and engage full label group as needed for all execution of brand partnerships related to album release events, single promotions, tour marketing, artist sponsorships, and major label-branded events. This includes significant experience and oversight of event marketing, promotion, and branded content (including brand integrations in music videos and song lyrics).
o Media Partnerships: Maintain on-going relationships with industry partners to direct and maximize brand partner media campaigns/budgets, including iHeart Media/Premiere Networks, Cumulus/Westwood One, CBS Radio, Comcast Spotlight/NCC, Live Nation, Madison Square Garden, Opry Entertainment, etc.
o Pitching, Budgeting, Negotiating: Oversee the full ''whatever it takes'' business development/sales process including but rarely limited to creation of sponsor proposals, campaign budget, negotiations, legal contracts, music licensing/clearances, execution, and recapping.
o Artist Relations: Foster trusting relationships with artist management teams, booking agents, and publicists to maximize business objectives and marketing value for artists.
Indirect Job Functions
o Strategic research and lead generation (Brands, Promotions, Artists - to determine best partnership marketing strategy for label initiatives / artist promotions)
o Maintain relationships with key sponsorship agencies and individuals
o Stay up-to-date with relevant partnership marketing/sponsorship trends and new business
development strategies
Requirements
o Strong interpersonal communication skills (must be able to create and manage relationships with various personalities including clients, senior-level management, talent, vendors, colleagues and music fans)
o Business proposal writing and presentation skills
- o Superb proficiency in PC and Mac including MS Office Suite, Smartsheets, and basic graphic/web design
Other Skills/Abilities
o Event planning & budgeting
o Knowledge/past experience in consumer marketing strategies (TV, radio, digital, social,
sweepstakes, promotion, etc)
o Advanced knowledge of music/entertainment law (contract writing/review/negotiation) o Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team environment
