I am an industry publicist that has recently started a boutique PR firm. D.Miles Media LLC is a boutique public relations firm, that specializes in fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment.
As an experienced publicist having worked at major agencies I have started my own operation, which continues to grow daily. As business grows so does my need for assistance in servicing a dynamic roster of clients. I am currently looking to bring on board other young, energetic, creative, and knowledgeable individuals studying for or seeking a career in PR/communications/media/entertainment.
With a growing list of exciting new projects I am looking for an individual who I can work with closely. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a small business environment, and open to the opportunity of having this internship evolve into a larger role. I welcome creativity, someone who can brainstorm with me to find innovative solutions to common problems. This is a position where your creative input will be valued. You will not be asked to do anything have not done or would not do myself. You in many ways you will be my right hand, accompanying me to meetings, events etc.
This is a flexibly position requiring 2-3 days per week, some of which can be done at remotely.
Tasks:
Scheduling meetings
Phone calls
Email correspondence
Scheduling travel
Accompanying talent to events
Drafting press materials
Social media management
Pulling media lists
Research
Tracking coverage
...among other administrative tasks
Requirements:
Previous experience/internship at public relations agency or similar environment
Media contacts a plus++ (but not required)
Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Media-related major
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Must have a great work ethic and be resourceful
Ability to handle working under tight deadlines with excellent accuracy
Dedication to the position and pride in you work is necessary
Up-to-date on Social Media trends and bloggers is a must
Experience with Photoshop and Microsoft Office and Mac proficient is a plus
