EXPERIENCE:
This is a senior level position.
Only those artists with a minimum of 5-7 years experience will be considered.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience finishing trailer MOTION GRAPHICS for Theatrical and Broadcast campaigns.
OVERVIEW:
Experience with tools such as After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite and Cinema 4D for the preparation and finish of motion graphics related projects to spec for final delivery; oversee final delivery to client. Lead the production/finish team and delegate workload based on project needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ability to absorb creative direction and work with Creative Director, Producers and Art Directors to understand project scope and directives.
- Motion graphics production skills should include, but not limited to, organizing comps, compositing, rotoscoping, 2D and 3D tracking, keying, constructing animated loops and rendering.
- Adaptation of campaign assets - retouching, logo and artwork preparation, illustrating, coloring, grading, etc.
- Re-versioning existing campaigns so any new elements match the provided footage and seamlessly composite together in accordance with creative direction.
- Finesse and enhance 2D and 3D work before final delivery.
- Work quickly to deliver under tight deadlines.
- Maintain personal design station for optimal workflow.
- Maintain familiarity with emerging technologies and formats pertaining to motion design.
- Provide a detailed eye for Quality Control of all graphics prior to posting or final delivery.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve as necessary. Must have ability to predict potential technical and workflow issues, R&D solves, and present solutions to the heads of the department.
- Collaborate with the Creative Directors to assess workflows and improve upon them
- Collaborate with department heads and IT to flag potential technical issues and work towards solving them on a continual basis.
- Supervise a small team of production artists and train as necessary. Must be able to interface with producers and coordinators to delegate work and meet deadlines.
- General and IT housekeeping of software, plugins, assets, style-guides, and naming convention compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Detailed knowledge of theatrical and broadcast formats and language (i.e.. 4K, 2K, HD, Aspect Ratios, Frame Rates, Action/Title Safe Areas, Center Cut Safe extractions and Various Codecs).
- MUST have minimum of 5+ yrs. Motion Graphic Production experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
- Advanced knowledge of Cinema 4D.
- Advanced knowledge of Maya is a plus.
- Knowledge of and desire to learn high-end 3D/VFX programs is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a Mac environment.
- Must have strong design skills and an eye for typography.
- Must be extremely detail oriented and a thorough perfectionist for the QC process.
- Candidate must be team player, motivated, organized and able to work within a collaborative environment, while being flexible and adaptable.
- Must be able to asses the skill sets of the production and finish artists to properly delegate work and communicate timelines to coordinators/producers.
- Must be willing to work an 11a - 8p shift and long hours and weekends when needed, as the nature of this industry is not confined to a 9-5 workday.
