COMPANY is looking for a creative, experienced, hands-on Manager of Development to help expand COMPANY's development and production of television and digital content. This role will work directly under the company's VP of Development to help develop ideas, formats and pitch materials for new content; build relationships and partnerships for the department; support and manage productions as needed; and find, recruit and develop talent relationships for the company's traditional/linear initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, charismatic, thoughtful and passionate about COMPANY's mission. We are looking for someone who can think big but also be able to roll up their sleeves and dive in, to creatively and tactically bringing projects to life.
The Development Manager will have the following mission-critical responsibilities:
• Create, pitch and develop original and cutting-edge unscripted and scripted show ideas and formats.
• Work with high-level talent and up-and-coming talent, brands and companies to generate compelling partnerships and access.
• Solicit and review external pitches for development consideration.
• Write copy and provide creative direction for presentation decks.
• Manage all aspects of production-including creative direction, production schedules, budgets, music, cuts, clearance and final delivery-on any assigned projects.
• Act as liaison between show runners and networks, when requested.
• Facilitate communication projects with other departments, including Business Affairs.
• Help coordinate and schedule internal and external meetings for the television department.
• Support other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum of 4 years of television and/or digital development experience.
• Hands-on production experience a plus.
• Highly organized and able to quickly break down and communicate creative concepts.
• Strong eye for talent and talent development.
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft, Google and Adobe product suites.
• Self-starter with a positive can-do attitude
