This is a commission only position with a 50/50 split based on the clients' gross income. Established boutique talent agency representing actors and writers is seeking a literary agent to join the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Screenplay and manuscript reading and notes
- Handling literary artist submissions, bookings, communication with production and publishing companies, travel and financial follow thru.
- Communicating efficiently with clients to coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments?
- Recruiting new clients
- Attending industry events with staff?
- Researching and tracking new project development.
Qualified candidates will:
- Be highly self-motivated and driven with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Be experienced with literary submission and review process, sales, contracts, union and non union, etc.?
- Have the ability to multi-task and follow instructions.
- Be proficient in computer skills including Final Draft, Movie Magic, Microsoft office, word and excel.
- Possess a high level of initiative. Have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Be personable, with an outgoing and friendly personality.
- Have existing relationships with production and publishing companies.
- Preferably have an existing client list. -
- Have at least 3 years of agent or manager experience, with strong knowledge of the entertainment and publishing industries. Those without agency experience NEED NOT APPLY.
We cover overhead expenses: office, submission sites, accounting, etc. This position has the flexibility to work from home and meet with clients at the office. All candidate submissions will be kept strictly confidential to protect any candidates currently employed. Serious candidates only.
