Search for Legal Assistant/Secretary jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Searching for an experienced individual on a part time basis to support a small, growing, fast paced entertainment law firm focusing on motion picture production. Potential candidates must have strong drafting skills preferably with some entertainment law experience (production or talent work a plus). This job is part time, however the right candidate could be hired on a full time basis if circumstances permit.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Drafting and revising of various motion picture and entertainment related contracts including above-the-line agreements (option/purchase, writer, director, actor, producer deals), below-the-line agreements (heads of department crew agreements, location agreements, equipment agreements), CAM agreements, and other related agreements.
• Researching, analyzing and summarizing chain-of-title.
• Interacting with DGA, WGA, SAG-AFTRA, Copyright Office and other third parties to compile information and complete assignments.
• Analyzing credits, preparing paid ad memos and other similar reports
OTHER SKILLS:
• Strong drafting skills
• Capacity to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Punctuality.
• High level of self-motivation and a strong work-ethic.
• Must have the capability of listening and learning while on the job.
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision and .
• Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Must have strong computers skills in MS Office (including Word and Excel), Apple Mail, working knowledge of Dropbox. Working knowledge of Apple computers.
• Must perform general doing general office duties as required by the position (e.g. maintain physical files, occasionally answering phones, etc.).
• Must be able to maintain client confidentiality.
• Dog friendly.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Paralegals, JDs and newly admitted attorneys will be considered.
• Familiarity drafting motion picture related agreements is strongly preferred.
