Entertainment Law Firm in Century City seeks full-time legal assistant for position opening immediately. Applicant will work directly under two partners and must be able to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis in a fast-paced firm providing production legal and development services to major studios on television series, feature films, and digital content.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
• General administrative duties including managing phone calls, maintaining internal agreement status charts, scanning and filing documents, assisting with billing clients on a monthly basis, scheduling meetings, and maintaining calendars
• Assisting attorneys with reviewing, redlining, and drafting agreements related to film and television development and production
• Assisting attorneys with various paralegal duties, including corporate formations, copyright filings, assisting in closing of bank loans and various related matters.
• Assisting with various legal delivery matters on feature films
• Interfacing with partners, associates and producers to keep them apprised of the status of all open negotiations
Minimum Qualifications:
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks for various attorneys in fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Working knowledge of the entertainment industry and standard procedure
• Demonstrate professionalism, tact, discretion, and an overall good attitude
Preferred Experience:
• The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience working in an administrative assistant position and experience at a motion picture studio, production company, or entertainment law firm
