A boutique law firm in Beverly Hills is looking for a self-starting billing manager. The person would be responsible for all areas relating to the Firm's finance and accounting functions, as well as maintaining accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The position will include generating client bills with various fee structures, generating financial/productivity reports utilizing ProLaw billing software, and paying invoices, tracking and collecting receivables. Additional responsibilities include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and the support of all budget activities as well as overseeing the benefits, human resources, and payroll functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Ensure client invoices are properly prepared and tracked, and oversee collections of the same
• Provide training to new and existing staff of how ProLaw billing software operates
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, including the firm's client trust account
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year end closing and reporting
• Direct and control account reconciliation and information entry process
• Support budget activities
• Work with Managing Partner to support overall firm goals and objectives, including special projects as needed
• Assess current systems and provide insights to functionality and efficiency
• Oversee employee benefits, payroll, and human resource functions
• Supervise the billing assistant
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Proficiency with ProLaw billing office (please do not apply without knowledge of this system)
• Four-year degree
• Experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
• Experience working in a law firm
SKILLS
• Strong knowledge of ProLaw billing software
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, diligent, and responsible
• Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently, with little supervision
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Must adhere to confidentiality requirements
