This is a 4 month volunteer Non-Paid internship program.
Candidates must take a writing test to demonstrate script writing ability in standard news-style script.
Interns are required to spend 1-2 full business days (Mon, Tues or Wed) per week in the newsroom logging tapes, writing anchor copy, research & pitch story ideas and assisting producers. In addition, interns are required to report on stories 1-2 times a week. Total time commitment will average 20-25 hours each week over the course of 2-3 days.
Interns will have the opportunity to write, produce, and report. In addition to field reporting, interns will assist show producers by following up on story leads, write anchor copy, make calls to arrange stories, and submit production requests to secure crew for shoots.
At the conclusion of the program, interns who have completed the 4 month program will receive a segment tape with copies of all reported stories.
This internship is geared toward applicants who are graduating or have graduated with a degree in a broadcast journalism or have equivalent field experience.
