Award-winning screenwriter/director seeks a creative, ambitious, and independent intern to help create and expand my class offerings, seek new speaking/teaching opportunities around the country and internationally, and much more.
You'll work hard and learn a ton about the film industry. Many of my previous interns have gone on to successful screenwriting and production careers in both NYC and L.A.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Helping create new screenwriting lesson plans and presentations
- Improving our website design, SEO, AdWords, and traffic
- Amplifying our social media and industry presence
- Finding new opportunities for business expansion, such as speaking gigs and film festivals
Skills required include:
- A deep love of film and TV, as well as the creation process
- Deep curiosity: the desire to research and acquire brand-new knowledge and skills independently
- An understanding of (or at least interest in) SEO, AdWords, Webmaster Tools, social media marketing, etc.
- The talent to create attractive, clear presentations using a variety of programs
NOTE: While much of this internship can be done remotely, you must live in or near New York City to meet up face-to-face at least once a week. You don't need to have majored in film, but you definitely need to have a strong interest in filmmaking, marketing, producing, etc.
