About the Job:
Are you an aspiring post-production professional? Are you a self-starter who loves a technical challenge? Are you driven to find solutions independently? If so, we're looking for you.
We are in need of an intern to work closely with our editing team. This is a part-time position that requires 15-20 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing. We are looking for someone with the right potential who is willing to take initiative to learn and grow in a supportive team environment. We will provide training and mentorship, helping you develop further skills and proficiency that will help build your post-production skillset.
Rate:
This is a paid hourly internship; rate is dependent upon experience. You will begin as a freelance independent contractor with the potential to become a staff employee.
Responsibilities:
• Ingest new material
• Lay out Avid timeline sequences
• Manage assets and data backups
• Support assistant editor
• Scan photos, edit photo assets
• Occasional runner/courier type tasks (mileage will be reimbursed)
• Occasional production tasks as needed based on capabilities
• Additional tasks added as abilities increase
Requirements:
• Previous Avid experience strongly preferred, will consider working knowledge of Premiere if not.
• Eagerness to learn from our Senior Editor and Assistant Editor; must possess initiative to learn new skills as they relate to editing & post-production
• Technical proficiency in Macs in general. Must possess ability to research and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently. Need someone who can be self-sufficient after training has been provided.
• Must have own vehicle and insurance
Prefer candidates with the following experience:
• Experience in an office environment and advanced ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with compression codecs and transcoding
• Knowledge of Avid project setup and bin structure, including file naming conventions
• Familiarity with various HD camera formats and associated transcoding practices
• Availability to work nights/weekends if needed
• BA degree in Communications, Broadcast Media or Film

Established in 1985, we are a Hollywood-based boutique production company catering to a corporate clientele. We produce roughly 70 high-end video projects per year and are growing.
