Greenpoint area recording studio looking for interns for the fall semester. This is an unpaid internship, so you must be a currently enrolled student and receive course credit.
I. Job Summary:
The primary function of the Intern Assistant Engineer is to assist the engineer in the set up, tear down, and documentation of recording sessions.
The Intern Assistant Engineer will also assist the engineer during recording session.
Intern Assistant Engineers also will help with several organizational projects during the course of the internship designed to teach about proper session documentation,
and proper file,project, and asset naming, documentation, documentation, delivery, storage, archiving and back up procedures.
Experience with google spreadsheets, and OSX is a must. Some level of familiarity with basic studio etiquette is also very important. Experience with Avid Protools and Ableton Live is a plus.
II. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Throughly document (according to procedures put forth by the engineer) any and all equipment setup and settings.
* Assist the Engineer in Asset and File management
* Assit the Engineer during sessions
* Assist the Engineer with set up and tear down of sessions
* Charge, empty, and setup (prior to sessions) several go-pro cameras, which are used to document sessions.
* As projects are often on tight deadlines, and sessions involve the coordination of many schedules, punctuation is extremely important.
Additional requirements:
-Live in the Los Angeles Area
-Be a currently enrolled student able to receive course credit
-Have a basic understanding of multitrack recording and DAW operation
-Have a basic understanding of computers
-Have a basic understanding of music. Being a musician is a plus.
