This position is responsible for all business and legal affairs relating to film activities and general entertainment matters for an extremely active independent entertainment production company in Los Angeles. The chosen candidate will be responsible for building and managing a business affairs team to handle the negotiation, drafting, and closing of all entertainment-related deals and business relationships; including deals to acquire and develop filmic properties in all genre's from animation,, live action, and hybrid films; co-production, distribution deals, out put deals, first look deals,, talent agreements, and all other agreements for the ancillary exploitation of intellectual property. The Head of Business Affairs shall report to the CEO/President of the Company and will advise and support senior executives and other personnel on business, legal, litigation and rights-related matters. The Company also has a significant digital acquisitions/distribution department and the chosen candidate will be responsible for production service agreements and various employment personnel matters related to the said department. The environment is demanding and fast-paced. The person in this position will be considered an integral and valuable member of the company's management team and have the goal of increasing efficiency within the business/legal affairs department and interacting with other departments and those outside the company including movie studios, agents and outside counsel. Qualified candidates must possess a strong legal/drafting background, strong negotiating skills, relentless attention to detail, positive attitude, strong management skills, strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for the job and completion of tasks, and flexibility.
