A diverse entertainment company and an independent producer of a wide range of television programming including awards shows, specials, and reality series, is in search of a Financial Compliance Manager.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will play a leadership role in an organization that is searching to increase efficiency in compliance reporting, specifically in securitization compliance. Strong securitization knowledge required for areas of responsibility including reviewing reporting requirements and implementing procedures to meet reporting deadlines.
• Review multiple legal agreements surrounding a securitization and document specific reporting needs.
• Develop reporting calendar for all documents that need to be submitted and certified.
• Develop procedures to ensure timely reporting.
• Meet with multiple departments to obtain information necessary for reporting.
• Develop procedures and reports within the Finance and Accounting departments to aid in report preparation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, periodic and ad hoc reports related to the securitization.
• Provide assistance to auditors in compliance reviews of the securitization reports.
• Verify that software technology is in place to efficiently create required reports.
• Consult with corporate management and attorneys as necessary for reporting certifications.
• Discuss emerging compliance issues with management.
• Design and implement improvements in communication and monitoring compliance standards.
• Maintain joint venture relations and reporting
• Residual payments
• Prepare participation statements
• Assist Accounting with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
• Assist with additional Accounting needs, such as cross training with A/P, A/R and Payroll.
• Assist auditors with financial quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
• Other projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation and accounting theory.
• 5+ years of experience in debt reporting, specifically securitized debt.
• Highly detailed oriented and organized in work.
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
• Proficiency with email and MSOffice applications (specifically Excel) and experience with Great Plains preferred.
