POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the SVP of Global Sales, the Film Sales Coordinator will play an integral role in expanding the Company's leading position in the film distribution space. The Film Sales Coordinator will be a key part of the team responsible for executing the Company's distribution strategy and policies, and will work independently on strategies to maximize exposure and revenue for its film and television content.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of film history as well as current events within the film, television and streaming content businesses, a passion for authentic and original visual storytelling, and a strong aptitude and interest in online media and technology. The Film Sales Coordinator will engage in frequent and extensive verbal and written communication with the Company's clients and with all of its platform partners and is expected to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in carrying out his/her responsibilities.
A successful candidate will need to be highly organized, thoughtful, energetic, efficient and above all an effective and precise communicator.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Regularly and directly assists the SVP of Global Sales in expanding the Company's leading position in the film distribution space.
• Independently source licensing opportunities with television networks and SVOD platforms both domestically and abroad on behalf of the Company; handle all negotiations of key commercial terms for agreements
• Independently source, develop and maintain relationships theatrical, DVD, educational, airline, and AVOD distribution partners and solicit new opportunities
• Act as primary point of contact for content provider communications regarding film sales throughout multiple release windows
• Work directly with marketing team on title-specific or thematic promotional initiatives and policies
• Work closely with internal operations team to ensure timely delivery of video assets
• Assist the department head in creating and organizing pitch lists and databases
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience working in entertainment, preferably film or television
• Knowledge and understanding of digital and on-demand distribution
• Strong awareness of and interest in technology trends particularly as they relate to media
• MS office and basic database capabilities
• Self-starter with strong organization and communication skills; ability to seek out, identify and take advantage of opportunities with minimal supervision; capable of handling multiple projects at once; comfortable working with internal teams, vendors, and Company management
• Commitment to personal excellence and pride in high quality of work
• Passion for independent film essential, as is personal alignment to the goal of using all of the skills above in the pursuit of better connecting stories with audiences around the world
