Overview
We are recruiting for the newly created role of Film Distribution Manager in Los Angeles, CA. The Manager's core responsibility will be to maximize revenues by licensing content for international distribution. The Manager will also be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with studios and production companies. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, an experienced negotiator with a passion for film and will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the current market. The candidate will have the ability to source significant levels of new business and develop strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Film Distribution Manager will work with a team of top professionals on the acquisition and licensing of films for international distribution.
• Film Distribution Manager will work on content packaging and branding.
• Sourcing, pitching, negotiating and seeing through to closure deals.
• Ensure that all existing relationships are maintained whilst sourcing and developing new business relationships to expand our business and ensure maximum exposure
• Liaise closely with operations to ensure materials delivered in timely fashion; and with finance to ensure client payments are up to date.
• Preparing availability lists and presentations
• Tracking and issuing NOA's (notice of availability) for our territories
• Updating and maintaining deal tracking schedule(s) and programme feedback forms
• Liaising regarding dubbed or local language versions of series to exploit content within territory remit as much as possible
• Provide regular reporting on deal negotiations, deals closed, target clients and market developments
• Develop strategies to grow business, including processes and structures where relevant or possible
• Work closely with peers, sales support, Business Affairs, Finance, Operations and Marketing in all areas of deal follow up
• Monitor the marketplace for changes and trends that affect sales activities
• Ad hoc projects, including analysis, tracking performance of films, market research and presentations
• Provide creative and marketing input where appropriate
Skills & Experience Required:
• - A proven ability to close deals and achieve targets
• - Ability to handle high volume of sales
• - Expert working knowledge of international acquisitions and licensing of film
• - The confidence and passion to present to large and small audiences
• - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• - Demonstrable self-starter experience
• - High degree of organization and problem-solving skills
• - Ability to manage a high volume of work with the highest attention to detail and accuracy
• - Evidence of working collaboratively with other team members in a dynamic environment and managing different time zones
• - Highly experienced Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word)
• - Ability to demonstrate good international network of clients and contacts
• - Specific market knowledge or research of key players in US film industry
Other Abilities:
• - Must be a confident individual who is a quick learner and self-starter
• - Must demonstrate calmness and composure under pressure
• - Very strong planning, organizational, time management skills required; must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• - Excellent ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and management required
• - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• - Must be seeking to advance within the industry and be looking for a position with true growth potential.
