FALL 2016
We are seeking an energetic, upbeat, passionate and hardworking intern with very strong creative writing skills to help our growing video production company.
This is for an internship to support the production company's efforts in the development of non-scripted/reality TV shows. This internship leans heavily on writing so you should be comfortable writing and revising treatments under a deadline. You should have a passion for creating non-scripted television and looking to work in the business upon graduation.
The intern will be involved in curating and researching new and innovative ideas, stories and characters that span across genres, specific regions and content spaces. In addition you will help with developmental research, conducting phone calls and Skype interviews. Compiling footage and editing casting reels, so intern should have familiarity with editing on Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud.
Other tasks include assisting with internal development, writing, drafting treatment and pitch materials, attending local shoots, reviewing footage and reviewing network mandates. General administrative office tasks include phone calls, email correspondence, communication with clients and maintaining organization in the office. Staying current and up to date with the industry: keeping track of networks regarding the content that they are developing and producing as well as staying relevant regarding news and information. Understanding and learning industry standards, how the development process functions as well as learning how a creative video production company thrives.
Requirements:
-Must be majoring in a related field
-Intern must be a rising or current junior, rising or current senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation date) at an accredited college/university.
-Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud editing software
-Applicant must be based in the New York area.
-Applicants must have completed their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship.
-Must be taking the internship for course credit and can provide a letter of verification OR you are taking the internship as a learning enhancement and can provide a letter of recommendation from a current college professor/staff member
-Must have previous internship experience and/or participated in college organizations, and/or in-depth coursework in a related field.
-Demonstrated interest in video production is preferred.
-Excellent verbal, analytical, written, critical thinking, planning, and presentation skills.
-Must be highly organized, self-motivated and a quick learner
-Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
-Mac proficient computer skills in Office, google chrome, Social Media, LinkedIn, etc.
-Legally eligible to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor visas for interns. If you are an international student not already studying in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa, then you have to go through a university or an outside organization (internship placement agency) that will sponsor your visa.
