An international fashion television network is currently seeking an In-House Legal Counsel. (Entertainment specialist)
The position will be based in Tokyo, Japan.
Applicants that are not already living here will be required to relocate. (Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required)
Responsibilities
- Advises the company on their legal rights and duties.
- Consult and handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, financial/securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits, patents)
- Contract revision
- International legal compliance.
- Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
- Advise the company about any legal challenges that may arise.
- Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Organizes and structures all legal documentation of the company and its subsidiaries.
- Drafts contracts and all legal related documents.
- Maintains updated all the legal documentation of the company.
- Negotiate deals and attend company meetings.
- Participates on administrative boards, court trials.
- Represents the company in legal proceedings.
- Internal documentation creation, revision and release.
- Ensures that all legal documents comply with country law and aligned with Company's strategy and goals.
Requirements
- Law degree.
- Adept in all kinds of law.
- Must be willing to work/relocate to Tokyo, Japan.
- 5+ years work experience.
- Adept in all kinds of law; particularly US and International IP Law, Entertainment Law and Litigation
- Excellent communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Willing to travel.
