An Emmy winning global production and distribution company is seeking a Director, Corporate Finance & Accounting to be based in their Los Angeles production offices.
Job Summary: Working under the direction of the CFO, this is a key leadership position for the company. The Director will work closely with the other members of the finance team, production, operations and senior management. This is a unique role with local and global exposure.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare deliverables for all planning and forecasting cycles for the company (budget, quarterly forecasts and long range plan); track risks & opportunities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow and variance analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and timely reporting to Parent Group as well as to local operating companies
• Assist with the preparation of all pitches, including monthly operational reviews for discussion with Parent Group.
• Perform financial analysis to support overall strategic growth initiatives, including evaluation of potential new business opportunities, valuation and productivity improvements.
• Oversee all Accounting functions, including, treasury & banking, A/P, payroll, tax, corporate governance, participations.
• Manage, train and develop at least two staff members.
• Ad hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA or CPA a plus
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in financial modeling, planning and reporting
• Excellent technical and analytical skills; knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations and senior management
• Continuous improvement attitude, ability to seek out and implement best practices
• Strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage detail and high level at all times
• Strong computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint; Cognos, Solomon or other financial systems
• Previous management experience; coaching skills and dedication in developing team is a requirement
• Solid business & media perspective with interest or experience in media industry
