Boutique production company is looking for a Director of Development.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new projects (features, specials, pilots, documentaries, and original web series)
- Identifying new original concepts, literary properties, formats, talent, etc. across all platforms
- Maintaining and building relationships with buyers in television and new media, as well as tracking trends in the marketplace
- Soliciting and evaluating new show submissions, taking meetings with producers, agents, production partners and talent to cultivate relationships and to solicit new work
- Facilitating research, and developing show ideas that originate from both internal sources and acquired pitches
- Having current awareness of new talent, trends and pop culture
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of development experience
- Strong leadership and motivational skills, with demonstrated ability to work with little supervision and under pressure to meet tight deadlines within budget constraints.
- Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to consistently generate and execute new ideas. Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects in varying stages
- Strong knowledge of the producing community with established agent and production relationships
- Must have legal right to work in the US.
