The Digital Media & Communications Manager will create and maintain the production calendar, track budgets and invoices, and coordinate communications media (social media platforms, Web site, electronic newsletters & e-blasts, videos, live events) for the organization, as well as act as the liaison between the Communications Department and LA's BEST field staff, development team and LA's BEST Alumni Group for the non-profit educational program. LA's BEST provides educational enrichment activities and a meal to 29,000 children every day in the neighborhoods with the highest needs and fewest resources in the City of Los Angeles.
This position reports to the Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs and serves as support staff for both the Vice President and Director of Communications.
Responsibilities:
-Coordinate multiple concurrent projects including video production, live events, communications efforts, fundraising, celebrity and VIP appearances.
-Create and manage event and project budgets, calendars, call sheets, rundowns and project schedules
-Coordinate the organization's presence and participation in social media and other digital initiatives, including videos, electronic newsletters, blogs, etc.
-Maintain video camera, audio, lighting packages and other equipment, as well as researching and recommending new purchases
-Coordinate and execute events, including community events, board meetings and fundraisers
-Create, update and manage content for organization's website and social media
-Track and organize web metrics (including social media analytics, website analytics & e-newsletter response rates)
-Act as the liaison between LA's BEST Corporate Office and LA's BEST field staff in order to leverage communications opportunities
-Manage logistics and planning related to LA's BEST Alumni Group
-Coordinate creation, design and upkeep of marketing and communications materials, including press kits, print publications, t-shirts, promotional premiums, collaterals and other product
-Coordinate and distribute news releases and other communications to the media through database management interface
-Maintain archive of digital assets, print clips, news clips and media-contact database
Act as the liaison between the Development & Communications Teams
Qualifications:
-Three years of production or communications coordination experience preferred
-Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
-Strong project management and organizational skills
-Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InDesign, social media tools such as HootSuite or Sprout Social, project management tools such as BaseCamp or Asana.
-Experience with Raiser's Edge and Researcher's Edge is a plus
-Familiarity with Final Cut Pro is a plus
-Education
A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required. A degree in Communications or a related field is preferred.
