Coordinator, Digital Publicity/Marketing
Boutique music marketing company is looking to fill an immediate opening for a top-notch digital publicity/marketing coordinator. Your level of experience should be mid-level and we prefer candidates who can maintain strong relationships with the online entertainment media space - particularly editorial. The ideal candidate will be assisting with media publicity and marketing for our company and clients with digital media. This is a long term position with potential to grow with the company and to gain entry with an intimate digital agency experiencing steady growth.
Our clients range from independent labels and management in all popular genres and music formats as well as consumer packaged goods (We work with music and non-music products). You can rest assured that not only will you be working on exciting projects, but that your work will significantly impact a large audience of influential people.
Job Description
• Develop and execute digital marketing strategies for company clients
• Work with key tastemaker media websites and social networks to obtain prominent placement and features for entertainment/music clients
• Heavy organization of databases per campaign - attention to detail is an absolute must
• Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer on weekly goals and strategies
• Manage existing content, collaborate with team to determine new content needs and develop compelling content
• Develop promotional marketing plans for artists and manage all contesting, prizing and delivery to partners
• Utilize writing skills for composing compelling artist bios, press releases and extraordinary media pitch letters
• Coordination of mailings and answering office line and ordering of office supplies
• Publicity outreach with all genre based, regional based and lifestyle based outlets
• Ability to research and find appropriate media sites and blogs for our clients for feature pitching
• Leverage and maximize publicity initiatives for all of our clients
• Ability to summarize progress in bi-monthly client status reports
• Basic social media experience to maximize marketing campaigns
• Set goals for and execute effective grassroots marketing and online publicity plans
• Direct to Fan/Consumer Marketing aspects and concepts for each of our campaigns
Skills/Experience Required:
• A strong passion and basic interest for all forms of popular music genres and marketing
• Attention to detail and above average of organization is essential for this position
• Previous Digital Publicity or marketing experience preferably in Entertainment/Music
• Prefer someone who has ease/experience dealing with editors, bloggers and major music portals setting up features, interviews and reviews
• 1-3 years marketing and/or publicity experience preferred
• Must be a self-starter who combines a high level of creativity with strong organization skills
• Self motivated, effective problem solver
• Ability to find key tastemakers/websites with research and development of media target lists
• Understanding evolving developments of technology and news as it relates to music websites and social marketing sites
• Strong written and oral communication skills required
• Graphic Design Experience and light HTML editing skills a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, and complete tasks quickly and effectively
