Established, growing and way cool digital distribution company is looking for digital techs. A digital media technician is responsible for assuring the quality of video, audio, image, and text-based assets. The technician will regularly watch content from start to finish and record all digital issues. They will judge the severity of those issues, and repair them in certain circumstances. In other circumstances, they will report issues back to the client and request alternate assets. This is a night shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) job.
The technician will also edit and adjust audio and text assets to ensure they sync to and conform with the master video asset.
Qualifications:
-Extensive knowledge of digital video and audio. This means being able to identify and manipulate codecs, video resolutions, aspect ratios, frame rates, multi-channel audio configurations, and other industry standards.
-Keen attention to detail and ability to spot video and audio errors.
-The ability to write professionally and concisely about digital media specifications and common errors.
-Strong understanding of at least one non-linear editing suite, ideally Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro 7.
Also desired, but not required, is experience with any or all of the following software: MacCaption, Caption Maker, Lemony, Adobe Photoshop, ProTools.
Any experience with tape decks, including capturing from or writing to HDCAM, HDCAMSR, D5, Digibeta, is also a plus.
Lastly, experience with converting interlaced video to progressive video, and working with telecine-related issues is a plus.
Full time, $16.50 per hour. EOE
