We're looking for an entry-level Development/Research/Casting Associate to join the Development team at a non-fiction TV production company in the San Francisco Bay Area. This person's primary responsibility will be researching potential talent and topics for a wide range of reality TV series in development.
Responsible for:
-Identifying potential talent for network pitches through extensive internet research based on directive from development team. Cold calling, emailing, and conducting Skype interviews with potential talent
-Conducting general online research across a diverse range of subjects based on directive from development team
-Assisting in writing creative treatments
-Maintaining talent development pipeline and other research trackers
-Performing ongoing competitive industry research and compiling results in weekly report
-Performing other research/writing/administrative tasks as needed
Our ideal candidate has:
-Ability to take direction well and successfully juggle competing priorities
-Extremely strong internet research skills, creative and out-of-the box research tactics (proficient in using social media, Reddit, etc. as research tools)
-Impeccable organizational and time management skills, strong communication skills, high attention to detail
-Ability to be a team player and contribute creatively as part of a fast-paced, dynamic group (regularly finds and pitches their own ideas/talent to the team)
-1-2 years experience in TV/marketing/advertising or other creative media industry
-Knack for why specific content/personalities are successful on certain TV networks (or strong desire to learn)
-Editing skills (added bonus)
-Genuine excitement about the world of reality/non-fiction TV and the process behind it
