Award-winning Entertainment Company, that has been creating innovative content for more than 20 years, is looking for a Development Executive to join the team. This role coordinates closely with the EVP, Original Programming & Development and the CEO to develop projects in line with the Company's brand and overall direction.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing new projects (specials, series, documentaries, and original web series)
• Identifying new original concepts, literary properties, formats, talent, etc. across all platforms
• Writing pitch decks, treatments and sizzle scripts
• Soliciting and evaluating new show submissions, taking meetings with producers, agents, production partners and talent to cultivate relationships and solicit new work
• Helping oversee production and post production of sizzles, scheduling, budgeting and other materials required for the sale of a show
• Facilitating research and developing show ideas that originate from both internal sources and acquired pitches
• Maintaining existing and cultivating new relationships with buyers in television and new media
• Having a current awareness of new talent and tracking trends in the marketplace
• Attending all pitch meetings as required by CEO and EVP, Original Programming
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Self starter
• Professional demeanor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative - Works well with others
• Strong organizational skills
• Proven ability to identify unique ideas and talent before broader public awareness and able to translate that into winning/successful programming
• Must have strong knowledge of/and relationships with, key players in the production industry, including emerging talent, agents, production companies, producers, writers, etc.
