Reports To: SVP of Development and President
Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt
Department: Development
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Position Summary:
This position will provide heavy development assistance to the SVP of Development and also work closely with the President. Must commit to a one-year period, internal room for growth.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Effectively manage executive's calendars - setting, re-scheduling and confirming multiple meetings, pitches and conference calls
• Manage phone system: incoming and outgoing calls, rolling calls, phone sheet, conference calls and paging system.
• Create and manage trend reports
• Manage competitive development report
• Arrange travel plans and expense reports
• Attend designated meetings and take notes
• Prepare treatments, pitches, agendas, materials or presentations for meetings and pitches
• Manage development slate, pitch log and submission log
• Work closely with SVP, EVP and President.
• Liaise internally and externally as necessary with all levels of personnel, clients and business associates with heavy emphasis on networks and agencies
• Research and keep log of producing/directing/writing talent in documentary and film worlds.
• Research ideas on net and news for new projects
• Manage deliverables for all projects in development.
• Maintains filing systems
• Works on special projects as needed
Education and Work Experience:
• Agency experience preferred
• Previous entertainment industry a plus
• Bachelors Degree
Core Competencies:
• Strong skills in organization and multi-tasking
• Self-starter
• Maintains confidentiality
• Strong written, communication and presentation skills
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
• Must have professional phone etiquette
• Proficient in Mac productivity/office applications (iCal, Excel, Word, iWork, etc.)
• Basic working knowledge of Final Draft, FileMaker Pro and Final Cut Pro
