Position Description
Design and animate motion graphics for television broadcast. Essential duties include: developing concepts, generating (often times multiple) iterations of a ''look''. Responsible for designing and animating logos, style frames, creating 2D and/or 3D content. This position works directly with the Graphics Department Art Director and/or Creative Director.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
• Develop engaging time-based visuals that complement the brand.
• Generate designs that comply with the needs and demands of the various shows
• Update existing projects, develop new ones by designing/animating; concepts/logos/style frames/lighting/texturing/modeling/ design iterations & versioning
• Knowledge and understanding of Typography is essential.
Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
Design/Animate Motion Graphics according to the needs or demands of the various shows.
o Under the direction of the Art Director, generate designs and motion graphics to be used in shows.
o Perform the duties of designing both 2D and 3D images
o Possess a strong sense of creativity and imagination
o Under the direction of the Art Director, work together to obtain the desired look/effect of the Creative Director while meeting the editorial needs of the show Producers.
Proficiency in various software tools such as Cinema 4D, After Effects, and Photoshop.
o Strong user knowledge and proficiency in each software category mentioned as well as knowledge and understanding of Typography.
o Cinema 4D experience is not required, but is preferred.
Required Software, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop. Cinema 4D experience is not required, but is preferred.
• Capable of working within the guidelines of an existing graphics package to maintain consistency and quality
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of 2D & 3D design is imperative.
• Must be flexible, deadline driven, a great collaborator and must be able to confidently deliver graphics with complete accuracy
• Must adhere to existing workflow and file structure
Qualifications:
• College Graduate or comparable experience in broadcast television.
• Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience working in broadcast graphics production
• Demonstrated experience using, Adobe Photoshop & After Effects. Cinema 4D experience is not required, but is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Excel, File Maker Pro, Outlook & Microsoft Word.
• Candidate must work well as a member of a hard working team to meet tight deadlines
• Fundamental understanding of time management techniques as they relate to the Graphic Production Assistant position.
• Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends as required during certain times of the year.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities, heavy deadlines, and daily time constraints
• Must be available 3 days/week (Thurs/Fri/Sat) for up to 6 months, on-site.
