This position is an integral part of our technical operations, as this person will manage and perform DI Conforms & various mastering & deliverable services of file and tape masters.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with superb organizational skills, enjoys problem-solving and multi-tasking, pays close attention to detail, and has previous experience and skills in the following areas: Avid/ FCP Online Editing, strong origination & Data file management, an understanding of various SMPTE standards for Quality Control, an understanding of color spaces, bit depth, CODECs, and image file types. The available position is based on standard facility hours, but after-hours and weekend support may be needed on a per-project basis. Additionally, the required shift may change depending on facility scheduling needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Encoding and Authoring Blu-rays, DVDs
Mastering Digital Cinema Packages
Prep for incoming artists, including archiving/ un-archiving media
Work on multiple projects simultaneously and facilitate seamless hand offs to fellow colleagues as necessary
Accurately communicate information to other departments / Clients
Learn and adhere to facility standard practices
Track and log hours spent on client-billable services with Studio Suite
Applicable software & hardware knowledge includes:
Expert understanding of EDLs, XMLs, AAFs, and the conform process, including I/O from the DI system
Proficient with Nucoda and Resolve systems, including the ability to eye-match, re-time, apply looks, composite titles, and conform in a timely manner.
Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Mocha for paint, beauty re-timing, stabilization, and other image manipulations
Have advanced knowledge of tapeless finishing workflows, digital cinema camera formats, and recording options
NLEs for online & list management including Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere
Working knowledge of frame rates, CODECs, and standard raster sizes
Working knowledge of SAN, RAID, audio/video patching/routing/de-embedding technologies & processes
Comfortable on both MAC and PC platforms
Experience with transcoding technologies Compressor, Telestream ,DaVinci Resolve, and tape decks is helpful, but not required.
