Production Company Seeks Experience Creative Executive
Established scripted film & TV production company seeks creative executive with at least 1 year of experience as CE. Reporting to VP of Development and Production, candidate will aid in overseeing development and production, from conception to delivery, while maintaining brand integrity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide creative guidance and feedback on film and TV projects.
• Supervise development and production at all stages as assigned. Review and approve concepts, outlines, scripts, rough cuts, etc.
• Organize internal notes on incoming material.
• Hear pitches, participate in notes calls attend creative and general meetings.
• Track, assess, and engage new talent and source material, including specs, comic books, etc.
• Drive concept generation and trend spotting.
• Conceive and develop new projects in house. Work with producers, writers, and directors on concepts and scripts.
• Draft talent lists, well-versed in A-list and up and coming talent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events, trends and competition.
• Build and maintain relationships with talent, agents, managers, studios, networks, etc.
• Manage the performance of administrative assistants and interns.
• Monitor the deal making process. Knowledge of deal structure, rights, options, and talent negotiation a plus.
• Liaison with marketing and physical production departments. Review marketing materials to ensure adherence to creative direction of projects.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Film & TV or related field
• Minimum 5 years in scripted TV and/or film development.
• Minimum 1 year as Creative Executive.
• Extensive knowledge of sci-fi and genre.
• Avid reader.
• Knowledge of story structure.
• Experience packaging film/TV projects, generating talent lists, and tracking specs and IP.
• General understanding of the global marketplace
• Experience collaborating with creative contributors.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, under deadline.
• Have existing relationships with agencies, managers, and talent.
• Positive attitude, problem-solver.
