Emmy and Peabody Award winning filmmakers seek a hardworking AP with office and field experience to work on a feature-length documentary for ESPN's ''30 For 30'' film series. Applicant should be passionate about documentary film, MUST have an in-depth understanding of football, and be available to start immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors/equivalent experience in journalism a must, as is knowledge of the current global media environment.
1 or more years experience in broadcast news, sports, documentary film, or reality tv production.
Excellent research skills
Ability to persuade via written and verbal communication
Demonstrated expertise in the news & documentary field.
Ability to assist with the editing of segments
Ability to work in a Mac work environment
Be a deadline-driven, goal oriented, multi-tasker
Ability to shoot and edit is plus
DUTIES:
Perform comprehensive research for any relevant source material from print, broadcast or film.
Research and maintain talent schedules
Find and scout locations
Research, contact, and clear all talent and locations for upcoming shoots.
Act as point person/liaison for all location shoots.
Get all appearance, location and material releases signed
Discuss ideas/goals with creative team regarding upcoming shoots
Participate and take notes in creative meetings discussing story / character points
Assist field producer on shoots in a 1st AD-type role.
Write detailed field notes during verité scenes and interviews
Write hot sheets after every shoot identifying story beats.
Maintain transript logs and assist scripting process.?
